Video is a great way to add more interest and provide more interaction on your website. Our Embedded Video page makes it super-easy to add videos and text to your Portfolio Site. The best part is your viewers get to watch the videos right on your website. There isn't a light box window that pops up and it doesn't take your viewers away from your website to another window to watch the video. This page also makes it easy to add as many videos as you'd like to the page.

The first thing you'll need to do is upload your video to a video hosting site, like YouTube, Vimeo, or Animoto. After your video is uploaded, you'll need to access the share options for the video and get the HTML embed code provided.

After that, you're ready to add a new embedded video page to your website. Start by clicking on the Portfolio icon at the top of your control panel and click on the Web Pages tab.

Next, click on new page and select embedded video page. This page will be added to the bottom of your list of pages as "Extra Embedded Video". You can drag and drop the page using the Extra Embedded Video button to place it where you'd like it to appear in your menu.

When your new page is positioned where you'd like it to be in the menu, you can start setting up your page. You will see multiple tabs to help you with adjusting the different settings of your video page.

The first tab, Embedded Items is where you will add your videos. Start by clicking on New Item, and the following form will appear. Enter a Title and Description for the video, then paste in the HTML embed code in the box labeled Embed Code. When that is complete, click on create item.

The remaining options you have for setting up your video page are the following:

  • Page Details: This is where you have the option to rename your page, as well as control the page visibility and access the direct page link. The navigation name is the name that will appear in the menu for this page, and the page name controls the title of the page that will show above the text. These names can be the same or different. Generally, the navigation name will be shorter.
  • Layout: In this section, you can choose how you'd like your videos to display on the page. The compact option will show four videos across before adding another line, and the videos will display small. The standard option will show two videos across before adding another line, and the videos will display larger.
  • SEO: This section allows you to add page-specific SEO information.
Note: Do not copy and paste the same title, description, and keywords for each page. This is considered duplicate content.

When you've completed your page and you're ready to apply the changes to your live website, make sure to go to publish and click on publish now.
